"Fate sent me over here to teach you to drink with dignity."

Over at the Atlantic site, Alyssa Rosenberg takes on a subject I've long been interested in--how we learn to drink, and what we drink as our education evolves. As our Surrey imprint publishes ever more cocktail books (including next month's blockbuster), I think a lot about how different people get interested in cocktails, mixed drinks, and higher-end drinking experiences (I think we all know what those lower-end experiences are). Rosenberg's piece gives a nice picture of her own evolution in this respect--and the comments are a blast.
